Uses: Found in household cleaning products such as dishwasher detergents and laundry powders. It helps break down grease, organic build-up, and grime. Also used in heavy-duty garage and shop cleaners to lift oil, dirt, and carbon residues from hard surfaces.
Industrial Applications: Used in metal and concrete cleaners, degreasers, and as a corrosion inhibitor in maintenance products. In the paper and textile industries, it acts as a bleaching aid. It’s also used in ceramic production as a binder and structural agent.
Safety and Handling: Sodium Metasilicate is caustic and requires proper PPE including gloves, goggles, and long sleeves when handling.
